Enjoy Umngazi’s warm hospitality together with an epic off road adventure for those looking for the beaten track. Pedal or Run through the most beautiful coastlines and help to make a difference to Umngazi's local community’s neediest learners.
Situated in the lush, indigenous surroundings of the breathtaking Wild Coast in the Eastern Cape, award winning Umngazi Hotel & Spa offers the opportunity of cycling or running in one of the most beautiful, unspoilt coastlines along the South African coast. The 4 day Umngazi Pondo Pedal & Run event is the is the epitome of purist MTB racing & Trail running. Each day the races start and finish at Umngazi Hotel & Spa, giving competitors a magnificent venue to start and finish at each day.
The focus of the event is not only an opportunity to enjoy Umngazi’s warm hospitality & cycle/run the most beautiful coastlines; but also to assist in making a difference to our local community’s neediest learners.
Routes:
Over 3 days, runners will endure approx 50 kilometers of varied terrain: single track, cattle track, district roads and mangrove trails.
Over 3 days, riders will endure 100 - 115 kilometers of varied terrain: single track, cattle track, district roads and swamp trails.
Entry Fees:
Eary Bird: The entry fee is R22 600.00 per pair of two people (R 11 300.00 per person) Interest free payment plans available!
Standard Entry Fees (After the 1st September 2022) : R24 800.00 per pair of two people (R12 400.00 per person) Interest free payment plans available.
Due to limited space and Hotel beds, only competitors are allowed to enter the event. All competitors must enter in a pair of 2 people.
Each athlete will still race individually and get their own finish time but will automatically be roomed with their fellow entrant unless otherwise requested.

Refund Policy
- More than 90 days prior - 50% refund
- 89 - 60 days prior - 40% refund
- 59 - 30 Days Prior - 15% refund
- Less than 30 days - No refund
These percentages are calculated on the race costs spent per competitor prior to each event.
Entries close on the 20th April 2023 or when full.
