The 2025 TINMAN DURBAN Series continues its legacy of exhilarating multi-sport events at Suncoast Beach, Durban, South Africa, showcasing the thrill of triathlon, duathlon, and running.
Originating as a small triathlon challenge in Durban in 1999, The TINMAN Series has grown into a nationally celebrated series, becoming a household name and attracting both elite athletes and passionate amateurs.
The event’s history is rooted in its accessible format, allowing athletes of all levels to compete across age groups and disciplines. Known for its high-energy atmosphere, challenging courses, and enthusiastic crowds, the 2025 series promises intense competition and camaraderie.

SWIM MOVES BACK TO SUNCOAST !
The TINMAN Series is moving the swim back to Suncoast / Battery Beach in 2025. This is great news for all athletes as it simplifies the race logistics for the triathletes and brings the race format back to the traditional race format of a Swim - Cycle - Run.
The Swim section of the TINMAN Series in Durban was moved down to Ushaka in 2022 after the devastating floods in KZN and the resulting bad water quality at Suncoast beach for almost 18 months.
2025 EVENTES TO ENTER:
- 10km Run (2 laps of 5km)
- Mini Tri (200m Swim / 6km Cycle / 2.5km Run) 8yrs old and up.
- Super Sprint Tri (400m Swim / 12km Cycle / 2.5km Run) 12yrs old and up.
- Sprint Tri & Relay Tri (750m Swim / 22km Cycle / 5km Run) 16yrs up - Cut off 2hrs 45.
- Sprint Duathlon (5km Run / 22km Cycle / 2.5km Run) 16yrs up – 3hr cut off.
- Challenge Tri & Relay Tri (1.2km Swim / 32km Cycle /10km Run) 18yrs up - Cut off 3hr50.
Registration Venue: Suncoast Sundeck, Durban.
Registration on Sunday (Race Day) morning: 5:45am to 7am at Sundeck, Suncoast.
START TIMES: To be confirmed on final race info. Final Race information will be sent out via email to all paid entrants on the Friday morning before each race weekend.

Triathlon Licences: All athletes must either have an annual TSA licence or purchase a Temporary TSA DAY Licence which will be valid for the event only.
We would suggest buying an annual Triathlon SA licence from TSA. It is cheaper and easier for each event. Costs are: R381 for seniors and R330 for Juniors. You can buy your annual licence here: https://triathlonsa.co.za/registration/
- Swimming will be in the Sea.
- CYCLING will be on the road (closed)
- RUNNING will be the Durban Promenade towards North Beach and back.
